I'm a CERTIFIED EXPERT in fitness, nutrition, weight loss and coaching from a habits-based, whole foods plant-based perspective that is all about GOOD HEALTH for life.

My passion is helping people truly find and live their optimal lives through making the connections between optimal health and a joyful, fulfilled life.

Through online courses and meal plan coaching, I teach strategies for good habits, good health, making things easier for yourself, and being good to yourself and others.

So many of us think we have to wait till the moment is perfect to start a new challenge, make a life change, change jobs, try something new, try something that we imagine will be hard, try something that will take us out of our comfort zone. 

We may have goals and a vision for our future, but we put off taking the actions we need to make those goals happen and achieve our vision. We find endless ways to wait to begin. We make excuses like “I don’t have time”, “it’s not the right time”, “I have to wait until XYZ happens, or until I have XYZ first”. We can make up endless excuses. 

Why do we do this? Because we have fear. Fear of starting but also fear of what may happen as we grow and change. We also have fear of what others may think (newsflash: they probably don’t care nearly as much as we think, if at all), fear of not doing something well enough, fear of “failing”.  All those things hold us back. And they will never be resolved by inaction. Rather, they will just get reinforced over and over in our thoughts and (in)action. 

The only way to deal with this is to just take action. Small steps. But JUST. GET. STARTED. Don’t judge yourself, just DO.  

The time to start blossoming is now, not later when some future non-existent time when you think all the stars might line up for you (they won’t, life doesn’t work that way). Taking actions is what brings about the stars lining up for you. As you do, you will start to feel more confident but just as importantly, new ideas will show up for you. You will start to see and experience new things. 

Having goals and a long-term vision is inspiring and exciting. But it is RIGHT NOW, the choices you make, the small action steps you take, that is what is really important. Focusing on our goals daily, writing them down daily, reading them daily, is what keeps us motivated and helps remind us why we are doing the sometimes challenging actions and steps every day. 

But what we have actually have control over, is what we choose to do RIGHT NOW. Be aware that all through the day this is what we have control over: our choices in the moment. Putting off making the choices and actions that nourish us and move us closer to our goals is like just standing still expecting to be transported right to our success place by aliens and landing there. 

Life changes and hands us things we can’t anticipate. Life doesn’t do the work for us while we hang out on the couch with a bag of chips binge-watching a series. It doesn’t work that way.  Many of us have a habit of looking at life - our goals, visions and dreams - with a set of conditions, saying “I will do this when I get/have/be….when everything is set up just perfectly for us….before we say “I’m ready to commit to taking action”. But no-one, not even life itself, will just give it to us. If you want to blossom and grow, it’s all on you my friend. Now is the time to be brave, to understand that you’ll have some fears but that’s normal and totally part of the process, and to let go of judging yourself. Now is the time to recognize that these things are not real. They are your way of making excuses and procrastinating. 

Holding back from taking the steps and doing the actions every day to get you closer to the things you really want, is taking the risk that you will never get there. Living in the moment right now, making that good choice right now, is all we really have. One step at a time is good enough. One step at a time is living fully. A series of steps is what takes us through our lives. 

Inspiration Spark!: Make each step one you take be in the direction of your goals, vision and dreams. Know where you want to go, but embrace just this moment, just this “right now” step. Appreciate it, pat yourself on the back for taking it, and then get up tomorrow and do it again.
